Starting weightloss June 24, 2012 pictures

I am in a bathroom at a bar that I was at my friends gig and they had a full-size mirror, so I took the opportunity to take the pics I know they may be some what hard to see as the walls are black and I am wearing black, when I am down 20lbs I will try to take similar pics to compare.

So I am working 3-11 tonight if I haven't mentioned it before I am a caregiver to the elderly. (personal care aide,Companion, light-housekeeping and meal prep) Tonight its with a client that has dementia and has a caregiver with him 24 hrs a day, not much involved its a pretty easy shift I do every other weekend with him for the time being.

Anyways what I always do is buy a sub or some such  but I am bringing my food, a couple clementines, 1 or 2 string cheese, and a turkey sandwich in a pocket.Plus 2 water bottles instead of the 2 20 oz bottles of coke I bring every time.

today

I am really liking my fitness pal and have logged in for 6 straight days eating below my set calories

Today I went to the grocery store and bought some healthier food, why is healthy food more expensive?

However I did buy my kids a pizza for lunch and had 2 slices still have much to go to reach my calorie goal so its all good, and I stopped at 2 even though I wanted more yay me!

A new scale

So I just bought a new scale at target so that I can record my weight on sunday!

I just decided over the weekend that I was going to start doing something about my weight regarding the way I have been eating, but I really don't have the most healthiest choices in my house so I am eating the correct calories but probably eating less than I could if I had healthier foods in the house so shopping Friday when I get payed. 

last week I had decided I needed to stop drinking coca cola classic and weaned myself to one can a day Monday was the last day I had a can. so that is no wiped off my grocery list. I am drinking tea with milk and sugar and green tea with sugar. But per another post I have discovered that I can use Truvia without bad effects so that will be on the grocery list.

I am drinking more water about 32 sometimes more


I see this new show extreme make over weight loss edition is starting on Sunday I think I need to watch this for motivation

Stevie- truvia, yogurt and whatever else

So I am allergic to non nutritive sweeteners ( sweet and Low, Equal, and even Splenda) so I have been searching for a sugar substitute that would not close my throat and make me nauseated and vomit, because if I am giving up my addiction of Coca Cola Classic then I need my tea, and I need not to have 3 sugars in said tea. so I tried truvia today, and low and behold it didn't make me sick like the other sugar substitutes, although I have been told by a friend to use the stevia instead that its 100% stevia which I am told that truvia isn't. Either way the trial was a success and will be added to the grocery list.



Another thing I feel I need to acquire a taste for is yogurt I just do not like the after taste, maybe it was the type I tried? It was so long ago that I am unsure of where to start with trying yogurt. I have been told to try Greek yogurt so I will give it a whirl, what can it hurt?

and smoothies for meal replacements I need to find some that I do indeed like because if I do elect to have the weight-loss surgery this is a must.

Even if I don't I think it would be a good tool towards weight loss.

Lose it or MyFitnesspal, maybe spark people

I am now trying to decide which app I like the best for my food journal. I have to say I have liked weight watchers in the past but at the moment I just cannot afford it.

at the moment I'm using both the lose it and MFP app I like that it has a scanner so if it has a barcode I can scan on both, I have created a sparkpeople account but have not really used it

Starting Fresh June 2012

I keep getting off and on the wagon with weight loss

I have been so off it lately

Other things like work and school are going well towards my road of trying to find a new me

My mom passed away in August of 2011 and my life has been pretty yuck because of it, But like I said school is well I have completed 2 semesters towards my BSW that is great, I am also working as a personal care aide part-time during the school year but pretty much full-time this summer.

I had a physical with my primary care physician we that depo birth-control is a big fact in my weight gain.
both my Gyn and primary care wish for me to try the mirena IUD and if that fails I am going to do  sterilization, I do not want any more kiddos, I have an 18 yr old son and a 5 yr old daughter I am good, plus in December I will be 35, not in any type of committed relationship, I am good with no more babies besides I may be a grandma anyways we will find out with DNA when the baby is born.

Anyways the theory is that now I am off depo hopefully I can shed some pounds, also am joining at the Y again on Friday when I get paid I can pay the membership fee's and start up, I think swimming at first and some treadmill walking.

I also went to a seminar for bariatric surgery, and I have a consult on July 25, I do not know if this is the route I want to take but I do want to be informed greatly. A friend did it and said the only regret is she didnt do it sooner
